What is the good solution for the mentally ill?

Every single day, when reading stuff that is happening around, I feel happy that I know, and I can control myself from what I have done. Unfortunately, there are still people cannot do that. They can have bad records, bad habits, or they can be criminals. However, we need to understand and sympathize with them. They do not know what they are doing. The only thing here is they need to protect themselves. That is why not only me but also the author of this article, Treatment, not Jail, for the Mentally ill, agree with Bloomberg.

It is useless to put the mentally ill in jail. I think all of us know it does not work. Moreover, it can make their sickness gets worse. It is impossible to treat them like other criminals that have experienced how life is. We need to create new treatments for them. They need to get back to their real life, and learn step by step. Life is already not fair to them, we, especially the government, should have done good treatments for them not wait until now.
